Handling time
The time it takes to dispatch your order after you place it (before delivery begins).
Transit time
The time the carrier takes to deliver after dispatch.
Free shipping threshold
The basket subtotal you need (after discounts, before shipping) to unlock free delivery.
Fragrance load
The percentage of fragrance oil in the wax. Higher loads usually mean stronger scent throw.
Scent throw
How strong/far the fragrance travels in a room while melting.
White vapour
A faint white mist from warmed fragrance oil dispersing. Normal fragrance release, not smoke.
Grey/black smoke
A sign of overheating or combustion (often a too-hot burner/tealight or a dirty dish). Not normal.
Electric wax burner
A plug-in burner that melts wax without a flame. Often more consistent heat than a tealight.
Tealight burner
A burner warmed by a tealight candle. Heat varies with tealight quality and burner design.
Burner wattage
The power level of an electric burner. Higher wattage generally means hotter melt pools and faster fragrance evaporation.
CLP (UK)

Cleaning the burner
Removing cooled wax and wiping the dish keeps performance consistent and helps prevent overheating/smoke.

What Wax Base Do You Use?
Ingredients

I use a proprietary paraffin based blend designed to hold a high fragrance load. The base is non hazardous (no CLP listing required for the wax itself).

I don’t use soy, coconut, beeswax, or rapeseed simply because these waxes don’t bond well with the high fragrance concentration I use. My paraffin blend is specially formulated to hold up to three times more fragrance oil than standard wax melts, so every scent is consistent, strong, and unforgettable.

Why No Free Samples?
Pricing

I use three times the typical amount of fragrance oil in my wax melts and the good stuff isn’t cheap! I’d love to include freebies, but it just isn’t feasible without raising prices. I’d rather keep my melts affordable for everyone.

What Size Are Your Wax Melts?
Specs

I hand pour each melt into a 1 ounce tub (sold as single units measuring approximately 4.5 cm wide by 2.6 cm high). They may be small, but they’re mighty! Each one is filled to the brim with fragrance, so even though they’re not the biggest melts out there, they pack a serious scent punch. The weight may vary slightly depending on the consistency of the fragrance oil, some oils are thicker or heavier than others, but every single melt is loaded with enough scent to make your space smell amazing.

Do You Offer Different Sizes?
Formats

I like to keep things simple with just one size. While I’m always dreaming up new ideas, offering other options like snap bars would mean using more wax and fragrance oil, which would unfortunately bump up prices across the board.

How Much Wax Should I Use?
Usage

It’s all about personal preference, really. Some people love a strong scent and use the whole tub at once, while others prefer to cut it into halves or quarters. You do you, find what works best for your nose and how long you want the fragrance to last.

If you’d like to dive a little deeper, check out one of my blogs, it goes into more detail about wax amounts, melt pools, and all that good stuff.

Can I Use Wax Melts Around Pets?
Safety

Wax melts are a fantastic way to freshen up your home and mask any lingering pet odours. While they’re generally safe to use around furry friends, it’s always best to keep your warmer in a safe spot, away from curious paws and noses. Some pets can be more sensitive to scents than others, just like us humans!

I never claim my melts to be “pet safe,” because at the end of the day, fragrance oils are still chemicals. Some may contain essential oils, some may not. That’s why it’s always best to consult your vet if you have any concerns. I’m more than happy to provide Safety Data Sheets or CLP information to help them out.

Just like with household cleaners or other fragranced products, it’s important to use wax melts responsibly. Never pour melted wax down the drain, and always keep your warmer away from pets and children. Think of it like burning a candle near a baby,  it’s just not a good idea. And always melt away from drafts or areas where little fingers (or paws!) could reach.

Why Can’t I Smell My Wax Melts?
Troubleshooting

If you’ve been melting scents for a while and notice the fragrance fading, don’t worry, it might just be your nose taking a little break! My wax melts are packed with fragrance, so a bit of “nose blindness” is completely normal. If it’s been a while, it might also be time to switch out the melt for a new scent.

Give your nose a rest, let it reset, and come back to it later, chances are, the scent is still there. In the meantime, check out my blog for tips on wax amounts, melt pools, and all things fragrance related.

Is Wax Melt Vapour Safe?
Science

That wispy cloud you see isn’t smoke, it’s actually vaporised fragrance oil. When the wax melts, it releases tiny fragrance molecules that bond with water particles in the air. This creates a soft, visible vapour that carries the scent beautifully throughout your space.

It’s a sign of quality and proof of the high fragrance load in my wax melts, so as long as it’s a white vapour (and not dark smoke), your melt is working its magic exactly as it should!

If you’d like to learn more about the science behind it, check out my blog:

Do Wax Melts Evaporate?
Care

Wax melts don’t evaporate the way candles do, only the fragrance oil evaporates to release the scent. The wax itself stays behind, acting as the carrier.

Do Wax Melts Evaporate? (Science of Home Fragrance)

How Long Does Each Wax Melt Last?
Longevity

The lifespan depends on burner type/wattage and how much wax you used. Cooler burners = longer life, gentler scent. Hotter burners = stronger scent, shorter life.
