So from there, I began creating these scents that not only smelled amazing, but also had a purpose. I believe that your surroundings should make you feel as special as you are.

“Daya,” Sanskrit word which means “compassion” or “kindness.” At Daya’s Essence, we have a deep passion for creating scents that help you find your happiness at home and in life. We believe in kindness, love, and compassion towards ourselves—and everyone else! Our beautiful scents are designed with you in mind: they represent confidence and strength, the love of family and friends… because we all deserve to be reminded of our own self-worth! But most importantly? It will always be about you and your happiness when it comes down to the smell of our products and what they mean for YOU in YOUR day-to-day life!

I am a strong believer in doing what you love and making sure that you are doing something that makes you happy. That’s why my journey began with the love for wax melts — this became a costly obsession, and it wasn’t long before I was spending a fortune on scenting my home with them. As luck would have it, it was exactly at this moment that my partner suggested that I start making my own. This suggestion changed everything. Not only did I have time on my hands, but I also had a passion for scents, so why not start creating them myself?

I started researching in 2016 and found that a lot of people make their own wax melts, so I wasn’t the only one. But I craved to be different, to be UNIQUE!

From my own personal experience, I know that there’s nothing better than a great-smelling home. It sets the mood for your whole day.

But I was frustrated by the fact that some of my favourite scents would just fade away so quickly. They were relaxing me, making me feel good, and then all of a sudden they were gone!

So I decided to do something about it. I started researching how to make wax melts with longer, stronger lifespans. And when I finally got them right, I knew other people needed this product too.

I wanted to create a brand that was luxurious and elegant, but also accessible and affordable enough for people to feel like they could indulge themselves without feeling guilty about it.

So after over a year and a half of rigorous testing, sourcing of ingredients, and experimentation with all kinds of waxes, oils, burners—both electric and tealight—I was thrilled to announce that I found our winning formula!

Our wax melts boast an astonishing 30% fragrance load that’s more than the standard you see in the wax melt industry which tends to be 10% concentrate, we use 3 times more fragrance oil in our specially formulated wax blend. This means you get the rich aroma of your favourite scents for longer, so you can truly enjoy your melts. I take pride in every single one I make, because I know how much it matters to you.

We also adhere to strict quality guidelines. We follow all relevant IFRA and CLP regulations, because I want you to feel confident that when you buy from us, you’re getting a product that meets high quality standards and safety too.

It’s been a long road since those early days! At first, I thought my products weren’t good enough because I’m so self-critical. But then I set up a Facebook group and gave away some melts—and I got incredible feedback! It made me feel proud and empowered to keep going with my dream.

I finally felt confident enough to turn my passion into a business (June 2018) and Daya’s Essence was born. Once everything was set up, there was no looking back! The rest is history. It’s been a roller-coaster of ups and downs since then, but at the end of the day, we’re still standing strong today—and still learning all about what it takes to run a successful business!

The amount of feedback and joy I bring to others leaves a glowing feeling deep in my heart, its made me forever grateful to my amazing community.

There is a misconception that owning your own business means life is perfect all the time. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. Owning a business means you have to take the good with the bad: long hours, hard work, with the ups and downs without limits.


Not only does providing excellent service with amazing quality products it means that our customers are happy and satisfied with their purchase, every beautiful review I receive from someone who feels uplifted by our products it’s like a virtual hug to me. It reminds me why I’m doing this: because life is hard and can feel lonely sometimes—but positivity breeds positivity, and even small acts of kindness can have a huge impact on someone else’s day (or even their life!).

We might be just one tiny business in the world, but if we can bring more positivity into peoples lives then that makes me incredibly happy.

The path of business is a long and winding one, with plenty of peaks and valleys along the way.

It’s not easy or glamorous all the time, but it’s worth it.

I’m fortunate to have a community of loyal buyers who have helped me see that this path is much bigger than I could ever imagine to see; It’s a dream come true: what started out as an idea has become a thriving business, thanks to all of you.

The power of our community is something I hold near and dear to my heart.

Since Dayas Essence first started, I’ve wanted to create a business that was focused on bringing delight to my customers. It’s been a long, hard journey getting here, but it’s all been worth it for this moment. The support you all have shown me has allowed me to continue to grow as a Businesswoman.

I just wanted to take a second and thank each and every one of you who have supported me by placing orders, leaving reviews, and shopping at Dayas Essence. Your loyalty has helped me learn so much more about the world of business than I could have imagined, and I wake up every morning stronger and prouder than the day before. 

When someone asks me what my vision is for Dayas Essence, I tell them that my goal is to treat my customers the way they’ve treated me—with love.

To build something long-lasting that will be successful not just because it’s profitable but because it brings pleasure to all involved.

I also want to create a legacy for my daughter that can continue on into future generations of our family.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and if I hadn’t started making my own wax melts, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

We’ve both come so far together, and we have a long journey ahead of us.

Where will we be in 5 years from now? Who knows, but this mummy is full of love and dreams to give the very best for her daughter and give royalty treatment to all customers too.
